Job Description: Restaurant Server
A restaurant server plays a vital role in ensuring a positive dining experience for customers. As a server, you are responsible for providing excellent customer service, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. Your role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:

Greeting and Seating: Welcome guests as they arrive, guide them to their tables, and provide menus. Assist with seating arrangements and accommodate special requests whenever possible.

Taking Orders: Interact with customers to understand their preferences and provide recommendations if needed. Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure they are correctly entered into the POS (Point of Sale) system.

Serving Food and Beverages: Deliver orders promptly and accurately to customers' tables, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to established service standards. Serve beverages, such as water, coffee, and alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks, while adhering to legal drinking age requirements.

Knowledge of Menu: Thoroughly understand the restaurant's menu offerings, including ingredients, cooking methods, and special dietary considerations. Answer customer inquiries about menu items, providing detailed and accurate information.

Upselling and Specials: Suggest additional food and beverage options, such as appetizers, desserts, and daily specials, to enhance the dining experience and increase sales. Encourage customers to try new menu items or promotions.

Coordination with Kitchen Staff: Communicate orders clearly to the kitchen, ensuring accuracy and timely preparation. Collaborate with chefs and other kitchen staff to address any customer preferences, allergies, or special requests.

Handling Payments: Present accurate bills to customers, process payments (cash, credit cards, etc.), and return change or receipts promptly. Ensure all transactions are handled securely and maintain accurate records of sales and tips.

Table Maintenance: Monitor tables and ensure they are properly set, clean, and organized before seating new customers. Clear and reset tables efficiently after customers leave, ensuring a smooth transition for new guests.

Customer Service: Anticipate and fulfill customer needs, promptly address any concerns or complaints, and provide exceptional service throughout the dining experience. Create a friendly and attentive atmosphere that encourages repeat business.

Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation procedures, and alcohol service guidelines. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and promptly report any maintenance or safety issues.
Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not always required. On-the-job training may be provided.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and prioritizing responsibilities.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and delivering orders.
