Senior Manager, Tax (Hybrid)

The Senior Manager, Tax contributes to the preparation of federal, state, local, and special tax returns by collecting, analyzing, and formatting financial information. This role prepares/reviews quarterly and annual income tax provisions following IAS 12. This position also researches tax issues as needed, resulting in thoughtful documentation. In this role, you will manage the tax staff.
As a Senior Manager, Tax, you will

Prepare the annual and quarterly tax provisions in Excel and One Source Tax provisions.

Review all U.S. federal and state income tax, including international forms (such as forms 5472 and 8865)

Review the preparation of a U.S. federal and state income tax partnership return.

Review outside tax firm's preparation of Canadian Tax returns and gathering of data for an outside provider.

Oversee and monitor of property tax filings

Review U.S. Federal and state estimated tax payments

Supervise and review the work of a Tax Senior

Work with the Senior Tax Director and SVP of Tax and Treasury to develop tax strategies and improve the tax position and tax efficiencies on both a federal and state level.

Assist with responding to federal, state, and local tax notices and managing federal, state, and local tax audits and examinations as needed.

Have the ability to learn international tax and transfer pricing adjustments for a global company, as well as indirect tax (Sales, VAT, withholding, etc).

Advise on the proper structure of legal entities and intercompany activity while overseeing compliance with transfer pricing.

Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, regulations, rulings, court cases, etc., determining the impact of exposure.

Miscellaneous tax questions and withholding forms for a Global Company
About you

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA and/or MST
-
5-7+ years of relevant tax experience in public accounting or industry
-
Significant practical experience in U.S. tax, U.S. international tax, and U.S. tax Reform matters.

Ability to identify, research, and propose resolutions on tax issues

Must possess strong organizational and leadership skills, including ability to prioritize

Detailed-oriented, with proven ability to drive projects to fruition

Strong analytical skills and ability to problem-solve
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Management of external providers
-
Experience with One Source Tax provision is strongly preferred

Experience with SAP or other GL systems is preferred

Ability and willingness to develop

The salary range for candidates in applicable jurisdictions in the US for the position of Senior Manager, Tax is between $90,000 and $110,000. The actual pay depends on your skills, qualifications, experience and geographical location.
