As a Dog Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring our canine clients look and feel their best. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, excellent grooming skills, and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
- Manage appointments.
- Clean and freshen pet hair by washing, shampooing, and conditioning it.
- Shave, trim, and style pet hair according to the owner’s preferences.
- Maintain overall pet hygiene by clipping nails, brushing teeth, and cleaning ears.
- Maintain a clean workstation by sanitizing and sweeping.
- Advise owners on at-home care tips and best practices for their pets.
- Conducting yourself in a manner that is in the best interest of clients and PUPS team members by representing PUPS in a professional, and positive manner.
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong dog grooming skills and prior experience preferred.
- Professional certification preferred.
- Effective communication skills.
- A love for dogs.
- Patient and enthusiastic.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand for long periods of time.
- Kneel, bend, or twist their body.
- Must be able to safely lift dogs of up to 50 pounds at times.
