Overview:
The preferred location for this position is Dallas/Fort Worth/Arlington, Atlanta or Orlando.
The Quality and Claims Manager is a key member of the Sheffield Metals Team. The Quality and Claims Manager position is responsible for processing and supporting all quality and continuous improvements within the company. This includes assurance related internal audits in adherence with regulatory standards; develop, implement, and manage Quality and Lean systems designed to ensure that all Mazzella Companies always meet the customer’s requirements and a system that engages all SMI team members to continuously improve.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with functional managers, create specific procedures and processes to ensure products and services meet customer and Company quality and safety requirements

Prepare quality reports as requested by customers, functional managers, and SMI Leadership Team

Launch investigations for “nonconformance and corrective action” relating to customer issues

Plan, promote, and organize training activities relating to Corrective Actions/Opportunities for Improvement, product and/or system quality & reliability
- Manage claims (field/material claims) and manage finish/substrate warranties process

Manage MRB at all locations

Conduct and coordinate field inspections with SW/PCM/MC/BCP/Steel Mills

Quality checks at coating lines (spot, real time issues, and new products)

Implement and manager quality KPIs and develop the vendor scorecard

Maintain work area, equipment, and tools in a clean and organized manner; follow all Safety Guidelines

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Quality Systems Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related discipline; in the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience serving in a quality management role, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement
Experience & Skills:
- Experience in safety and safety processes is preferred

Skills related to collaborating closely with various company team members

Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required

Excellent math skills and overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required

Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task

Must successfully complete a criminal background check, drug screen and E-verify

Experience in the architectural metals and/or roll coated steel and aluminum industries
Travel
Travel for this position is upwards of 50%
