- Provide technical expertise and oversight in the support, design, development, testing, and implementation of an updated SAP environment that is running current versions of the operating system and SAP software.
- Ensure all current reports and processes promoted to the SAP environment are fully functional and operating in the new SAP environment.
- Ensure all current users of the SAP system can access and fully utilize the new SAP environment. This includes internal and external customers.
- 4. Assist in delivering an SAP system that is robust, secure, redundant, and scalable.
- 5. Assist in ensuring that complementary activities and equipment such as servers, storage, printing, and communications are sufficient to provide for current and future needs.
- 6. Assist in coordinating, managing, and monitoring the project activities and responsibilities of the Department’s assigned project technical staff and resources.
- 7. Assist in ensuring that IT Security standards are met, implemented, and enforced to maintain the integrity of the systems’ entire infrastructure and data.
- 8. Oversee and help manage the User Acceptance Testing process, and work with City staff to resolve any issues discovered.
- 9. Help ensure the timely submission, review, and approval of all deliverables for the projects.
- 10. Provide regular or periodic status reports to provide updates on project progress, in addition to identifying project issues, tracking resolutions, and planning action items for the period following deployment.
- 11. Provide training on server maintenance and troubleshooting, including administration and audit.
- 12. Provide training on client reporting tools such as the Business Intelligence Launch Pad, Web Intelligence, Web Intelligence Rich Client, Universe Design, and Crystal Reports.
- 13. Migrate SAP environment from an on-premise datacenter to a hosted service.
- 14. Assist with writing technical documents, including project requirements, system requirements, test plans, project standards, training materials, and other relevant documents.
- 15. Develop, schedule, and oversee the generation and delivery of training, user guides, and full project documentation.
- 16. Coordinate and effectively interact with the technical staff on the project team and all LADBS staff.
- 17. Documents best practices and creates development resources that can be used by other developers specific to Systems.
Qualifications/Skills
The qualified candidate must possess the following skills and experience:
- 1. 5+ years of experience in Information Technology
- 2. 5+ years of experience in the design, testing, implementation, documentation, and support of SAP environments.
- 3. 3+ years of experience in the integration of SAP and identity management systems.
- 4. 3+ years of experience in the design, development, testing, and implementation of SAP Client reporting tools.
- 5. 3+ years of experience in Microsoft Server installation and configuration
- 6. SAP technical proficiency with at least 1 full life-cycle SAP implementation and 3+ years of Industry or consulting experience
- 7. Deep understanding of SAP Basis workstream in implementing and/or supporting different SAP components such as SAP S/4HANA, SAP HANA, SAP Fiori/Gateway, SAP PO, SAP Business Objects, BW on HANA, SAP Business Suite on HANA, etc.
- 8. Migrate SAP Applications to cloud including SAP Migrations to HANA using tools such as SAP DMO.
- 9. Good understanding of platform, network, security and storage components in a cloud environment working with VM Engines, Storage services, Network components such as Load Balancer, VPN, etc.
- 10. Broad technical background with knowledge of system sizing and architecture
- 11. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills when interacting with all levels of management, customers, project team and staff.
- 12. High proficiency in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with the project team, LADBS staff, and other City departments.
- 13. Experience working respectfully in a culturally diverse work environment.
- 14. Ability to work independently and with teams.
- 15. Ability to lead conversations with Customers, SAP, SAP Partners, Developers, and Architects
- 16. Proficiency in writing Technical Documentation.
- 17. Ability to gather, interpret and evaluate complex information and data.
