GENSTLER EYE CENTER is a long-standing pillar of the community and has been providing the best in eye care services to our patients for more than 30 years. Our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is purpose-built and has an impeccable Oregon Health Authority site survey record. Procedure load consists primarily of cataracts, in addition to some cornea procedures, ocular plastics and other related procedures. You will join a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who are committed to excellence in patient care, integrity in the workplace and a compassionate, forward thinking approach to individual patient needs and circumstances.
Primary Responsibilities

- Able to work quickly and efficiently in a busy, fast-paced surgical setting without compromising patient safety or experience.
- Demonstrates a high level of competency in perioperative nursing.
- Completes pre-procedure care, preparation and education.
- Assists with anesthesia prep.
- Assists surgeons during surgical procedures with accuracy and adequate speed.
- Maintains strict sterile technique in the handling of medical instruments & equipment.
- Completes post-procedure care, instructions and discharge.
- Exhibits adequate knowledge of and strictly abides by all applicable healthcare regulations, HIPPA and other privacy requirements.
- Leads, supervises, teaches and collaborates with co-workers effectively.
- Manages multiple assignments in a streamlined and orderly fashion; organizes and prioritizes workload; problem solves; recalls information with accuracy and pays close attention to detail.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, stream-lined environment where accuracy and attention to detail are paramount.
- Demonstrates competency in IV starts, EKG monitoring and other pre and post-operative duties, as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 1 year OR experience preferred.
- Active, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Current BLS or ACLS certification required.
- AORN certification preferred.
- EKG monitoring experience preferred.
Work Schedule: PRN coverage for a Tuesday/Thursday surgical day rotation. Minimum 3 shifts per month required.
Salary: Range, based on overall nursing experience and OR experience level
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $30.65 - $42.51 per hour
