HEAD CHEF
Ride a boat to work! The Maritime Market is located on Bald Head Island, NC, which is 3 miles off shore. The island is only accessible by boat, so employees enjoy a ferry ride to work each day. Parking and ferry tickets are paid for by the Market.
Maritime Market's Head Chef is the overall leader and manager of all culinary activities of the organization. This includes managing the kitchen for the Cafe which serves breakfast & lunch daily, the Wood Fired pizza kitchen which serves pizza during lunch and dinner and the Asian Kitchen which also serves lunch and dinner. The Head Chef is responsible for the overall creation of the menu, meal plans, processes, and execution of those processes by the staff of each venue. The Head Chef develops and maintains all supply-vendor relationships, as well as manages the daily/weekly ordering of food & supplies. The Head Chef keeps all culinary work areas and customer areas "inspection-ready" clean per all health department regulations. The Head Chef also works with our Event Planner to create, quote, execute and deliver customized catering events for private parties, along with Market-sponsored events such as Oyster Roasts, Wine Dinners, and Beach Parties. The Head Chef is responsible for the overall profitability of all culinary departments including managing all costs, margins, pricing, and maintaining an efficient utilization of all labor.
