Position Purpose: Perform a wide range of transactional duties to serve members by receiving or paying out funds with high accuracy, integrity, and honesty. Maintain accurate transactional records. Provide a variety of member savings, share draft/checking, and credit account transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Present a positive image of the Credit Union through a professional appearance and courteous attitude.
- Provide comprehensive, prompt, accurate, honest, and efficient member transactions.
- Perform teller duties as instructed. This includes routine member transactions - deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, loan payments, transfers, check cashing. Examine checks for endorsement, negotiability, and fraud. Selling Official Checks and Money Orders. Receive payments for all consumer and mortgage loans. Provide members with account status, including current balances and loan payoffs.
- Process night drop deposits and record information per credit union procedure.
- Account for all transactions and balance accurately cash drawer. Assist with end of day balancing of coin deposits.
- Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers.
- Complete and maintain training assignments assigned by HR and management on all related policies and procedures, rules and regulations for the Teller area, with particular attention to the Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act, and robbery procedures.
- Assist with mail or e-mail transactions, when available.
- Responsible for branch opening and closing processes.
- Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary. May help other teller’s research and resolve discrepancies.
- Ensure that the Teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies, brochures, etc.
- Cross-sell credit union services such as debit cards, credit cards, on-line banking, or other promotional products when available.
- Report malfunctions of teller terminals and other equipment used at the teller station.
- Provide support by responding to member requests received from the Call Center. Have a thorough understanding of supportive departments within the credit union and direct member requests to the appropriate area for follow-up.
- May be required to work at other branch locations on an as needed basis. As a result, employees may be asked to travel between locations, where starting and ending times are slightly different from their primary branch location. Employees may also be required to participate in the Saturday staff rotation.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications: Incumbent will have a minimum of two (2) years strong and accurate cash-handling experience in a banking/credit union environment, along with excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
Schedule: Seeking a qualified part-time candidate to fill an opening on Fridays and Saturdays. Friday will include a full day, while Saturdays will consist of half-days.
