Fitter / Welder - Structural Steel
1st & 2nd SHIFT $22.50 - $29.50+ Hour / Depending On Experience (DOE)
Seeking 1st Shift positions - 5:00AM - 3:30PM
Seeking 2nd Shift positions - 3:30PM - 2:00AM (2nd Shift with $1.50 / hour shift differential)
Essential duties for our Structural Welder / Fitter team:
- Work positively within a team environment to ensure quality, efficient and safe production
- Accurately interpret structural steel drawings
- Understands steel fabrication with the ability to layout and mark material to be cut, welded, or have additional members added
- Safely load and unload equipment with material either manually and through the use of an overhead crane or magnet
- Uses tools of trade effectively (grinders, mag drills, track torch, air arc)
- Perform daily cleaning of machines and housekeeping of work areas
- Perform daily preventative maintenance of assigned tools and equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to pass Welder certification test using FCAW and/or GMAW Spray mode transfers in the 3G and/or 4G Position .
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience.
- Proficient with tape measure and measuring instruments.
- Knows proper use of hand held torch and plasma arc.
- Ability to stand long periods of time, including reaching, climbing over material
- Proficient in layout, reading and interpreting blueprints, shop drawings and other company documents
