In order to be considered for this position, you must have 2 years of experience in general accounting practices.
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to Accounting department personnel. Maintains accounting document files, including daily work and accounts receivable. Posts daily deposits to insured’s accounts and responds to telephone inquiries regarding accounts as necessary. Assists accounting personnel as requested.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Opens and sorts daily mail for the accounting department in a timely and accurate manner.
· Accurately and timely posting of daily deposits for PAB, members, CWA’s and odd members, does research on any checks that may need research.
· Accepts phone calls in a courteous and professional manner concerning payments, cancellations, and any other accounting questions as needed.
· Accepts credit card payments over the telephone with a approved greeting and speaks in a courteous and professional manner.
· Ability to accurately and timely issue refund checks; ensuring all information is accurate before mailing.
· May perform duties as a backup in posting daily deposits for POI, NCL, CPL and FCPL policies.
· May act as a backup for reviewing co-bill, EZ pay and general suspense folder.
Skills/Qualifications:
Experience in accounting principles and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; Must have above average ability to work with a diverse group of people, including local lodge officers, agents and vendors in an effective manner. Must be organized and detail oriented and possess excellent grammatical and numerical skills.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
