First Lady Permanente, LLC a healthcare educational institution is seeking experienced RNs and/or LVNs who would like to teach and share their skills and knowledge in the classroom with Vocational Nursing students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Instructor role: Didactic Instructor and/ or Clinical Instructor
- Plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning
- Delivers curriculum in accordance with approved syllabi, according to program objectives and timelines.
- Maintain high energy level and ability to engage students to ensure an excellent student experience
- Facilitate active and ongoing management of students
- Develop student remediation plans as necessary.
- Participate in simulation lab, skills lab and tutoring sessions.
- Serve as a positive, professional role model for students. Assisting in their professional/ social development
- Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clinical sites (for clinical instructors).
- Assume complete responsibility for up to 15 students in a clinical facility (for clinical instructors). The didactic instructor may have up to 30 students during lectures.
- Meet with faculty members to discuss program development. Attend faculty meetings, in-service sessions, student orientations, graduations, and other campus events as required.
- Support the Campus Director and Nursing Program Coordinator in the organization of the program and implementation of the program standards.
- Work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and other team members.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse of Licensed Vocational Nurse
- At least 3 years working experience in the field of nursing.
- Bachelor of Arts/Science Degree preferred or associated from an accredited school.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR/AED Certification by AHA)
- Teaching experience is preferred
- Competence in clinical skills area of teaching
- Competent in personal computer applications: word, processing, spreadsheet, database and email.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and analytical skills.
- Medical Requirements: Pass a 10-panel drug test, provide a current physical, updated immunization records, negative TB test 1 and 2 or QuantiFERON TB Gold, pass criminal background check.
