**Job Overview:**
Fit Chef, a reputable prepackaged meal and catering company, is seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Manager to join our leadership team in Gluckstadt. As a Kitchen Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring high-quality food preparation and our standards of excellence are met.
**Responsibilities:**
- Manage kitchen staff by recruiting, selecting, and training employees.
- Lead a daily team gratitude meeting and set the standard for a positive culture.
- Supervise food preparation processes to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared according to our recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards
- Order food products according to predetermined product specifications and par levels; and ensure that products are received in correct quantities and condition.
- Ensure deliveries are received in accordance with proper receiving policies and procedures
- Control food cost and usage by following proper storage procedures, standard recipes and waste control procedures including checking and maintaining proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points
- Make sure rotation procedures are being followed and over prepping is not occurring
- Responsible for organization and cleanliness of all coolers, freezers and dry storage areas
- Maintain an accurate daily waste log
- Be aware of proper portioning and ensure all cooks are following recipes properly.
- Maintain all thermometers in freezers and coolers
- Ensure that all equipment is kept clean and kept in excellent working condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurants' preventative maintenance program
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Implement and maintain health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items.
- Address customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
- Ensure efficient workflow in the kitchen.
- Oversee kitchen budgeting.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
**Skills:**
- Proficiency in kitchen management and food preparation techniques.
- Experience with microsoft Word, Excell and other basic computer knowledge skills.
- Strong understanding of restaurant operations and industry trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a similar role within the food industry is preferred.
