JOB SUMMARY
To ensure an excellent volunteer experience, providing the necessary technology infrastructure for those who volunteer and the programs who hire them, and the capability, culture, and training to support a “gold standard” experience for our volunteers.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In collaboration with the Director of Volunteer Engagement

Responsible for the development and implementation of a gold standard volunteer experience, focused on cultivating a sense of purpose, belonging and fulfillment among volunteers.

The gold standard experience encourages volunteers to offer their time and skills and are empowered to feel a profound connection to their work. This approach nurtures volunteers’ feelings of joy, hope, and fulfillment, fostering a deep sense of satisfaction from their service and creating enthusiastic ambassadors for SVdP

Welcome and greet volunteers as they arrive to serve and provide check-in assistance as needed

Liaison to all program volunteer coordinators, maintaining regular check-ins to ensure effective communication and coordination, identify volunteer needs, current and anticipated, and assist in identifying strategies for utilizing volunteers when there is overflow

Supervision responsibilities for Volunteer Engagement Specialists/Officer and anyone the Director of Volunteer Engagement assigns.

Proficiency in using the volunteer scheduling software

Coordinates placement for groups, individuals, and organizations with efficiency and precision

Reviews and responds to the volunteer experience surveys to gather feedback, identify trends, and implement improvements to enhance the volunteer experience

Create metrics to measure volunteer retention, establish retention goals and ensure goals are met

Assist in building and strengthening relationships with Vincentian volunteers

Serves as an expert tour guide

Form, train, and maintain an executive volunteer team capable of providing support during significant events and serving as substitutes when needed to enrich the volunteer experience further

Participate as an active and engaged VE team member. Contribute to a healthy, collaborative, communicative team environment. Engage team members in joint problem solving and offer help to team members when able; ask for help when needed. Share ideas on how VE can continue to improve and provide the best possible customer service to our volunteers and program partners

Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy, and ensure SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated*
- Volunteer engagement and appreciation, as well as support for the Culture of Philanthropy are part of all job descriptions at SVdP, and a very important part of the organizational culture and values

Be able to define and analyze performance metrics that surface insights to inform the success of SVdP volunteer experiences

Strong communication skills

Able to create and maintain a cohesive team with diverse styles, and to build and nurture empathy and trust within the team

Reasonable proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel/Google sheets), presentation software, Salesforce CRM
