Position Summary
The role of the Shop Manager is to efficiently and successfully lead, manage, and staff the Scoop Shop, while maintaining our high Lick standards, while providing an amazing customer experience. The person in this role is essentially an extension of the Lick founders, supporting their goals of assuring happy and satisfied customers, knowledgeable and dependable employees, and an exciting, unique and fulfilling guest experience. We are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Shop Manager to lead, coach, and develop a team of Shift Leaders, Scoopers, and Cone Makers to achieve all operational goals and provide a great guest experience, while providing a safe and inclusive workplace. This person reports directly to the Director of Shop Operations; Scoopers, Shift leaders, and Cone Makers report directly to the Shop Manager.
Minimum Expectations
- Fully support the founders mission and integrity of the brand
- Fully engage in day to day operations and management of the Scoop Shop, this includes staff management, stock management, financials, and other partnerships and initiatives. Responsible for recruiting and maintaining proper staffing levels
- Maintain highest shop and kitchen sanitary and cleanliness levels
- Treat this position as a responsibility and be accountable for any and all actions, decisions made or direction given
- Treat this position as a priority and be excited to be at work
- Surface concerns or frustrations immediately and directly to operations manager
- Assume positive intent
- Take initiative and lead by example
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage staff and resolve staff challenges directly with individual staff members
- Prepare schedules in timely manner as well as enforce the schedule and punctuality
- Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Lick Honest Ice Creams and what makes our ice cream unique, and share this knowledge with customers and staff
- Monitor staff knowledge, scoop sizes and employee/customer interaction and guide staff as necessary
- Identify any customer issues/complaints and take necessary steps to correct them
- Maintain proper stock levels in shop at all times, in line with business needs and company initiatives
- Follow and enforce all policies and procedures outlined in the company Policies & Procedures manual
- Ensure safe environment within shop by monitoring employee actions and customer behavior
- Maintaining privacy in regards to alarm codes, safe codes and all other confidential information
- Monitor/Asses performance of yourself, staff, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- Bring others together and try to reconcile differences
- Control operations of equipment or systems, including ordering and equipment and supplies
- Direct facility maintenance or repairs
- Handle public inquiries in a timely and friendly manner
Skills
- Have knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfactions.
- Have knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
- Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsProven retail management/assistant retail management experience preferably within food service
- The ability to provide authentic and personalized customer service
- Previous business planning experience including setting sales and customer service targets, sales analysis and staff scheduling
- Previous retail operations experience including inventory and facilities management and cash reconciliation
- Proven track record of leading a team to achieve sales and customer service targets
- Experience of creating and executing team focus points for cultural, service, or other opportunities for team growth
- Ability to work retail hours including days, nights, weekends and special events in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to learn Point of Sale and timekeeping systems
- Efficient in Microsoft Office programs including Excel
- Perform all other related duties as requested
Requirements:
- Current State Food Manager Certificate registered with the city
- Able to communicate politely and professionally with customers and team members (written and oral)
- Able to stand for shifts lasting up to, but not limited to, 12 hours of time on concrete flooring
- Perform tasks which involve repetitive motion including, but not limited to the use of arms, hands, wrists, back
- Able to use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Manage one’s time and the time of others
- Monitor and control resources, including but not limited to collecting payments for goods or services, counting and managing till, managing inventories
- Lift 50# of product

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
