Overview
The Human Resources Manager will lead and direct the day-to-day functions of the Humans Resources department including payroll, managing/mentoring employees, and enforcing company policies and practices. This person will spearhead change initiatives to improve operations and enhance departmental performance.
Essential Duties:
- Lead and mentor a team of junior human resource professionals
- Manage and oversee the company’s weekly payroll process and auditing practices
- Oversee and manage the performance evaluation system and process to drive high performance
- Plan, organize, and control the activities and actions of the HR department
- Contribute to the development of HR department goals, objectives, and systems
- Manage the HRIS systems to ensure they are working properly
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-today management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and assist in the creation of, and adherence to, policies, standards, and procedures
- Partner with leadership to help implement HR law and policy changes in the organization
- Provide advice and suggestions that will help with policy implementation to the leadership team
- Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
- Review, revise and become familiar with the company’s employee handbook

Non-Essential Duties:
- Creates and maintains HR reports (new hires, terminations, EEO-1, rosters, labor reports)
- Seeks constant improvement or more efficient and less expensive ways and means in department work processes.
- Is flexible and open to change and improvement
- Researches and develops resources that create timely and efficient workflow.
- Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by executive management.
- Follows up to complete any assigned work.
- Maintains high ethical standards in the work place.
- Reports all irregular issues and problems to executive management for solution.
- Maintains good communication with executive management, office staff members and outside contacts.
- Complies and maintains confidentiality of all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, but not required.
- Human Resources Business Partner
- Minimum of five to seven years related Human Resources experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PHR or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
- Experience with ADP system preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel.
Language Ability:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- English and foreign language such as Spanish and Japanese might be necessary but not required.
