Job Purpose:
The SElectronics Support and trainer is an integral part of the company’s supply and support network, and will be responsible for field activities, together with providing assistance on technical projects relating to training, traceability, sales of MAF Roda electronic systems.
The position will require travel from time to time to complete on site testing or development of MAF team members, customer training, sales support, and MAF business objectives and may require overseas travel within the wider MAF Roda Group.
From time to time as a requirement of the role and in order to meet MAF’s commitment to our customers, long hours will be required during certain seasonal peak times to meet and deliver to deadlines. Seasonal demands of our industry also dictate that some out of hours and periodic weekend work may be necessary during these times.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
· Project Manage software training in house for Service technicians.
· Develop customer/market specific adaptation of MAF software within the structure of GS6, GS7, Orphea, Traceability, Insight, IDD technologies and facilitate MAF group support and resources to maintain alignment with group development strategies.
· Set up and test traceability devices and process; bar code reader, scales…
· Train MAF employees for Start-up equipment onsite and fine tune commissioning adjustment to achieve contract requirements.
· Develop and train internal and external resources and customers to the usage of our electronic department equipment.
· Assist development department in installing, testing, and validating hardware or software version of MAF electronic equipment.
· Creating of the traceability support and follow up documents from sales service communication to traceability service.
· Assist traceability department testing, installing and starting new equipment at customer facilities.
· Assist sales departments on testing equipment for customer special requirements on specific commodities.
· Travel with Sales regional Team when necessary to educate customer prospects on MAF proprietary electronic equipment.
· Monitor and report on the status and progress of training team members.
EDUCATION:
· A recognized technical diploma or University degree in industrial and tertiary Electronic & tracability or an equivalent qualification combined with relevant work experience gained in the manufacture, installation, configuration or commissioning of special purpose automation and robotic machinery would also be considered.
· Certification in systems technology, or, substantial work-related experience in MAF Traceability, software tools, programming and proprietary software. PLC [Omron …] and SCADA [Indusoft Web Studio ...] programming knowledge or similar experience would be beneficial.
· Industrial electrical, systems, network, IT infrastructure experience, data management experience and good mechanical aptitude.
Preferred Knowledge/Experience/Skills
· Strong fault finding, diagnostic, troubleshooting, decision making skills and on job experience.
· Attention to detail and quality workmanship.
· Self-motivated, reliable and a positive professional attitude.
· Understand fieldbus as IO-Link, Ethernet/IP, ASi, Device Net, CC-Link, Ether CAT, CompoBuss..
· Understand Computer systems and software [Database], and networking [Switches, routers].
· Some exposure to the horticultural industry would be useful.
· Excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team and interface well with customers and suppliers.
· Strong organizational skills and priority driven. The ability to advance work progress without supervision.
· Proactive, enthusiastic, creative and open to learning new technologies and skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and driven to achieve deadlines.
· Commitment and an enthusiasm for automation, mechanical and electronic equipment.
· Bi-Lingual English / Spanish
Competencies & Role Requirements
· Valid Driver license, clean MVR and capable of getting a passport with access to Canada
· To have an appropriate knowledge and understanding of the functions and responsibilities of an Electronic technician.
· To train team in install, commission, adjust, troubleshoot and maintain automated equipment [Electronics mechanical, electrical and control].
· To help and give support to wider technical team to priorities and reduce minor stoppages, operational downtime and changeover time losses.
· To design, develop, improve and maintain software, traceability, automation and training systems processes and materials.
· Contribute to the training and improved processes of commissioning and handover of software and electronics for MAF Customers.
· To propose, coordinate and update procedures in agreement with MAF Roda Headquarters.
· Transfer and upskill technical team under direction of electronics and service department leaders and facilitate knowledge and learning processes within MAF Industries.
· To maintain high standards in the processing of work allocated, whilst also meeting the expected company requirements.
· To work in a manner consistent with the company’s standards and practices, whilst maintaining an acceptable level of conduct and personal example.
· To encourage the Learn from Experience System by capturing, sharing and reapplying technical knowledge.
