The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is looking for a Lead Steward to join our Facilities team.
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission operates a Kitchen/Dining Hall serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, 365 days a year, to clients in the Mission’s Drug and Alcohol Addiction Recovery program, the Men’s and Women’s Overnight Shelter, as well as a daily evening Community Meal.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner with other facility staff members, residents, clients, volunteers and donors. They must also have an aptitude for working on their feet and standing for an (8) hour shift along with an ability to lift 50 lbs. as needed.
All kitchen employees must have a current Southern Nevada Health District ‘Food Handler Safety Training’ Card (Health Card) along with a good understanding of safe culinary practice.
This position assists with the overall cleanliness and upkeep of the facilities at the Las Vegas Rescue Mission with a focus on the kitchen and dining hall, this includes all equipment and tools along with the dining hall, storerooms, and bathrooms. This position reports to the Director of Facilities.
Requirements: Minimum three (3) years of experience in Hotel/Casino/Banquet or similar environment. Able to work unsupervised. Available to work days, evenings, week days, weekends and holidays.
