Provides guests with excellent customer service by representing the front office and property as a guest’s primary contact and first impression. Multi‐tasks efficiently and effectively while remaining 100% focused on the needs of our guests. Makes good use of all tools provided to enhance the guest experience. Produce excellent guest satisfaction score results. Answers phones, handles reservations, checks guests in and out, takes ownership and follows through on all guest requests and issues. Maintains the front desk and office area in secure and professional manner. Balances shift accounting and completes all necessary paperwork and computer functions Communicates with housekeeping, maintenance, management and ownership in professional, timely and organized fashion.
Essential Responsibilities and Function:
Greets guest as the first point of contact and creates positive first impression to every guest. Uses the guest name, maintains eye contact with all guests, and assists every guest professionally, courteously and as efficiently as possible.
Checks guests in and out of the hotel in efficient and accurate manner. Ensures complete satisfaction before every guest leaves the front counter.
Maintains security and safety of the guest by keeping room numbers and guest information confidential at all times. Follow proper procedure with regard to giving key for guest rooms, transferring phone calls and responding to inquiries about a guest.
Sells guest rooms to walk in guests and reservations, using established selling procedures and yield management techniques. Practices the “no‐walk” and “sold‐out” rate strategy when appropriate. Always asks before selling a non‐standard rate.
Answers and transfers all incoming telephone calls using proper telephone etiquette. Provides customer service, including message taking, setting wake up calls, providing
directions and other information as needed.
Job specific position requirements:
Proficiency in general accounting and office procedures Experience with POS or PMS system preferred Excellent customer service, phone etiquette and multi‐tasking abilities. Must take initiative, be able to handle fast‐paced environment alone and with accuracy and efficiency while maintaining excellent guest service.
Job and Work Requirements: Availability to work on all shifts, including but not limited to at least two overnight shifts/week. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, push and pull while performing job tasks. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. or greater. Excellent decision making skills required.
