Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and energetic individual with a proven track record of accountability and results for the position of Operations Manager. He/she will oversee all daily business operations and is responsible for engineering, procurement, inventory control, production, lean manufacturing, quality control, health and safety, maintenance, and employee relations, with the intent to maximize efficiencies and improve corporate profitability.
Summary of essential job functions:
- Develops recommendations and executes initiatives to meet corporate strategic objectives and operational excellence, both short and long-term
- Works with the continuous improvement team to reduce waste throughout production, inventory, and procurement systems
- Motivates, directs, and coaches a high performing team to meet established goals
- Develops and tracks manufacturing KPIs and reports performance to leadership team
- Forecasts and maintains financial budget
- Develops and maintains operational reporting
- Oversees purchasing and inventory to effectively support production requirements while minimizing inventory carrying costs
- Builds company image by collaborating with customers, suppliers, community representatives, and employees while maintaining and enforcing ethical business practices
- Ensures compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures
The ideal candidate is detail oriented and has the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. They have strong project management skills and can communicate effectively both written and verbally. They have led and managed change successfully and are experienced in working in a lean manufacturing environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Post-secondary diploma and/or degree in engineering and/or business
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum of 4 years in a senior management role
- English required
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail required
- Experience using Office 365 with strong Excel skills required
- Experience using Microsoft Business Central an asset
- Experience using Power BI an asset
