Position Summary:
The Industrial Facilities Janitor will be a motivated and high energy individual that performs general cleaning and minor maintenance duties in the multiple facility sites, adjacent walks and grounds, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and functional condition. This position will provide assistance to staff, visitors, vendors, and other employees as necessary. Perform all duties related to maintaining the general cleanliness and safety of all facilities, restrooms and offices.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Clean offices, breakroom, restrooms, stairways, and windows
- Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors throughout the facilities
- Regularly check trash receptacle and empty as needed
- Dust fixtures, shelves, and use products as needed
- Assembles structures, builds and installs cabinets, partitions, and shelves, repair furniture, repairs floors, doors, locks, and related items
- Repair faucets, sewers, plumbing, change lightbulbs
- Paints buildings exterior and interiors, furniture, cement, and other materials
- Scrub floors, perform snow/ice removal, and general grounds maintenance
- Work with purchasing to replenish cleaning and other supplies
- Organize janitorial storage areas
- Communicate with facilities management about any work that requires outside expert assistance
- Maintain inspections of fire extinguishers within all facilities
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Must possess and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Must be able to do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations
- Safely operate forklift, power sweeper, hand tools, and cardboard baler
- Must be able to carry items and objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and less frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Must be a self starter and work with a sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely manner
- Must have the ability to climb heights, and ladders, and stairs
- 1-3 years of general building experience a preferred
- 1-3 years of janitorial experience preferred
- Construction experience a plus
- Ability to Read and Follow Cleaning & Weed Spraying Product Directions
Work Environment
- Walk in and around the facilities with great frequency
- Must be able to stand/walk for 10-12 hours a day
- Sites have varying temperatures and workstations
- Noise levels varying
- Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, and fumes/odors
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
