The Atlantic Council seeks a talented organizer, thinker, and communicator for a full-time Assistant Director position to serve in its GeoEconomics Center. The Assistant Director will be an integral part of the team supporting the Center’s broad mission with a focus on the Chinese economy and trends in US trade and investment flows. Reporting to the Center’s Senior Director, the Assistant Director’s responsibilities will be dedicated to managing the Center’s ambitious programming on the Chinese economy and G7 economic engagement with China. The Assistant Director will support events and research, represent the Center in meetings with external stakeholders, and support the Center’s fundraising activities. The Assistant Director will also support the Center’s general data analysis and data visualization work. The Assistant Director will also be able to publish with the Council on the Chinese economy and US international economic policy.
The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial spirit, communicate effectively, and enjoy the complexity of helping to build a rapidly growing program. The candidate should have a strong background in economics, finance, and an interest in foreign affairs. The position requires a strong aptitude for organizing programs and events, excellent data analytics skills, superior writing abilities, extraordinary attention to detail, and a proven aptitude to manage day-to-day responsibilities of an ever-changing Center.

This position is based in our Washington DC headquarters on a hybrid schedule. Pay is commensurate with experience, education, and organizational equity, with offers starting at $55,000. Applications submitted by April 15, 2024, will be prioritized for consideration.
