Pay Range: $26.00/hr. - $30.00/hr.
7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
7:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
PRN ALL SHIFTS
Must be available to work holidays and weekends.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN) works under the direction of the RN Director of Resident Care and in compliance with Physicians' orders. LPNs primarily provide nursing care to patients in accordance with the established standards and practices, and with the guidance and supervision of a licensed nurse. This position provides nursing services to residents in a senior living community, including assisted living and memory care.
Nursing Responsibilities
- Prepares and administers medications understanding the facility’s protocols for safety of residents. Administer medication per physician orders. Observe for any adverse reaction and notify physician accordingly.
- Performs basic nursing care such as taking vital signs, changing dressings, monitoring catheters, and recording food and fluid intake and output.
- Orders medical supplies, narcotics and medications.
- Receives and logs medications in the centrally stored medication logbook.
- Communicates clearly with residents, families, physicians and co-workers regarding resident’s change of condition and nursing care.
- Uses sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment and follow-up.
- Provides first aid to residents when needed.
- Report changes in patient status to supervisor such as hospitalization, discharges, and physician appointments
Resident Management
- Respond to the needs of residents, families and visitors by providing immediate and courteous assistance
- Assist patient in learning appropriate self-care activities
Compliance
- Organizes and monitors human and material resources necessary for meeting needs of patient.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation consistent with the service plan/plan of care.
- Follows department guidelines as well as Safety Protocols and OSHA standards.
- Documents activities and interventions done.
Miscellaneous
- Communicates directly with other disciplines involved in patient care on a regular basis, including weekends.
- Completes all assigned duties that may change from time-to-time according to resident needs, staffing levels, and working circumstances.
- Member of the community’s emergency response team.
- Maintains a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.
Education/Training/Experience
1-2 years of related experience, preferably in a senior living/care setting.
Graduated from an accredited program for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Licensed LVN/LPN in the appropriate State
Experience in geriatric nursing, emergency care, first-aid
Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the State.
Skill, Qualities and Characteristics:
Experience with basic computer skills in Word and Excel. Excellent communication and customer service skills
Demonstrate competence in oral and written communication
Must be organized, attentive to detail, and possess a positive, friendly and professional demeanor
Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner
