Position Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Location: Phoenix, AZ
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive customer problem calls. Work to resolve the problem over the phone or if necessary, resolve by visiting the customer’s site
- Identify the root cause of problems with complex mechanical, electrical, and software systems
- Perform repairs on equipment, such as installing software programs, teaching, diagnosing problems and repair of programmable controllers, end of arm tools, part aligners and wafer mapping stations
- Identify required parts and assist the Material Control group in the timely procurement of parts
- Estimate cost of repairs and send to Sales for customer quoting
- Organize training classes for internal technicians and customers
- Investigate, repair, final test and close RMA's within company guidelines
- Create Service Reports, fill out test checklists and collect relevant test data to support RMA and field service issue closure
- Follow company safety procedures and best practices at all customer sites and company repair areas
- Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites for service of complex systems.
- Assist production department in manufacturing of systems as needed
Job Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software systems for diagnosis and repair
- Ability to read highly complex and advanced electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Proficient in using both hand tools and power tools
- Proficiency in using manufacturing tools, electrical test equipment such as DVM, Oscilloscope, Vibration meters, airflow meters, etc.
- Excellent communication skills in verbal and written English
- Taiwanese language skills are a big plus
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to facilitate appropriate resolution of issues with customers and internally
- Ability to work in stressful situations and under time-constraints in diagnosing and resolving technical issues in highly complex technology
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Extensive knowledge of technical aspects of products and of customer needs
- Ability to interface effectively with team members to facilitate appropriate resolutions to meet operating needs
- Good critical thinking skills
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills for making presentations and training customers
- Flexibility to work long hours and/or weekends from time to time based on operational needs
- Good communication skills
Educational and Professional Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in electronics or equivalent preferred
- Minimum 2 years or more of relevant experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry·
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and semiconductor manufacturing equipment'
