Position Overview
The primary responsibility of the Machinist 2 is to set up and operate machine tools such as milling machines, boring machines, and grinders, to machine metallic and nonmetallic work pieces.
Role and Responsibilities
Reads blueprint, HEC traveler and Predator DNC software for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cut and determines sequences of operations.
Selects, positions, and secures tool in toolholder (chuck, collect, or toolpost). Positions and secures work pieces in holding device, machine table, chuck, center, or fixtures. Moves controls to position tool and work piece in relation to each other and to set specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
Observes operation of machines.
Operates a forklift after receiving training and certification.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three (3) or more year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Mathematical Skills/Reasoning Ability: Basic math skills preferred.
Computer Skills: Knowledge of MS Office, Predator DNC and PartWorx software.
Pay: $26.45 - $27.31 per hour
