Senior Auditor/Accountant
King, King & Associates is a growing CPA firm that is a recognized leader in Connecticut in performing audits for governmental and not-for-profit entities. We have a substantial tax practice as well as work in other practice areas. Our employees attend continuing education seminars and receive on the job training.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Auditor/Accountant to join our team. The ideal Senior Auditor/Accountant candidate will have a background in state and local government auditing, as well as experience in leading audit engagements and supervising staff.
Senior Auditor/Accountant Job responsibilities will include:
- Plan and execute audits of state and local government entities, including financial statement audits and compliance audits.
- Lead audit engagements from planning to report issuance, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Review workpapers and audit reports prepared by junior auditors on your team, providing guidance and feedback as needed.
- Communicate with clients regarding audit findings and recommendations, cultivating positive client relationships.
- Identify and communicate significant accounting and auditing matters to the manager and partner on the engagement.
- Identify emerging risks and areas for improvement in audit processes and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Senior Auditor/Accountant Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting required.
- 2+ years of experience performing audits, preferably with a focus on state and local governments or not-for-profits.
- Strong technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff at all levels.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve results.
