The Role
Help support the professionals who bring lifesaving medications and medical devices to market! RAPS (the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society) is seeking an Editorial Production Coordinator to support the publication of books and content to meet the professional development needs of those in the healthcare regulatory field.
We are looking for a team member with excellent editorial skills, an inquisitive mindset, and a desire for professional growth. This role requires robust multitasking abilities, keen attention to detail, and the desire to work on a variety of projects simultaneously. This position is best suited for someone who wants to better understand the healthcare system and the products that treat patients and improve health.
What you will do with us:
- Substantively edit manuscripts for factual accuracy, form, grammar/punctuation, adherence to proscribed style and general readability.
- Format and prepare manuscripts for review by external peer reviewers and revision by authors.
- Compare reviewer feedback against author changes and assist in resolving differences regarding structure, form, and grammar.
- Check references for accuracy and style.
- Research new books and resources on topics of interest to the regulatory community, including both RAPS-published and co-published books.
- Assist in the evaluation of submitted manuscripts and book proposals.
- Assist the books team and volunteer Editorial Advisory Committee (EAC) on the development of the annual production calendar.
- Proofread chapters, figures, and tables to ensure accuracy and clarity.
- Assist in the creation of promotional materials for book products.
- Support other editorial activities as assigned.
What you will bring to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree (in English, communications, journalism, or related discipline) or commensurate experience
- 5-7 years’ experience in an editorial role
- Book industry experience a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with one or more editing styles such as AMA, APA, Chicago, etc.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills
- Ability to multitask, meeting and/or exceeding deadlines on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience and understanding of print and electronic publications processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in Adobe InCopy/InDesign is a plus

Pay: $58,200.00 - $72,800.00 per year
