The Role
Field Service Tech is responsible for planning and coordinating activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.
Duties & Responsibilities of a Field Service Technician:
- Installs new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
- Reviews performance reports and documentation from customers and field representatives, and inspects malfunctioning or damaged product to determine nature and scope of problem.
- Analyzes review and inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
- Coordinates problem resolution with engineering, customer service, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
- Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
Qualifications of a Field Service Technician:
Required qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Up to 75% travel required within AZ and CA in personal automobile, including after hours and weekends. When not traveling, will work remotely at your home.
Preferred qualifications:
- Associate’s degree (A. A.) and/or 2 to 5 years relative work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
The following skills and experience are required or considered beneficial for this role:
- Welding experience
- Industrial electrician or mechanic background
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of HVAC/R systems
- Electrical system troubleshooting expertise
- Ability to read and interpret schematics
- Familiarity with low voltage systems
- Analytical mindset for problem-solving
