Job Description:
A Salesforce.com Solution Architect is responsible for providing technical vision based on understanding the business requirements and designing solutions that leverage the capabilities of the Salesforce platform to meet those requirements. They work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze processes, and recommend Salesforce solutions that align with the organization's goals. Solution Architects have a deep understanding of Salesforce features, functionality, and best practices, and they use this knowledge to design scalable, quality, performant, customized solutions that address specific business needs. They help educate the team with technical best practices and translate business needs to a technical vision that teams of low code or pro code builders can execute on. They also build proofs-of-concept (POCs) that teams can further iterate on. The Solution Architect is responsible for the Design Review and Architecture Review of the solutions and as a trusted technology leader at the table will be tasked with supporting buy-in for new solutions.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate functional and technical requirements on high impact and large complex projects that can span multiple software technologies.
Design Salesforce solutions, including data models, configuration, customizations, integrations, and workflows.
Acting as a technical guide, being able to speak conceptually, document architecturally and be comfortable doing hands on coding as well.
Design scalable solutions using a mixture of configuration and code to support business functions and product goals, knowing how to work in and around the limits of the platform.
Communicate with product managers, cross functional development teams, network infrastructure, information security, data privacy & compliance and principal architects to ensure a cohesive technical strategy is designed and executed upon
Be part of the entire development lifecycle of a product from the intake, architecture, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
Support and maintain current Salesforce instance(s), including the data model, coding best practices, user permissions, integrations with third party and internal applications, security settings.
Design and implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems, utilizing Salesforce APIs, middleware tools, and custom development. Identify integration patterns, recommend integration technologies, and ensure data integrity and security.
Possess in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Salesforce platform, including its declarative capabilities, data model, security model, and integration options. Stay up to date with the latest Salesforce releases, features, and functionalities, and provide guidance on leveraging new capabilities.
Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution design documents, technical specifications, data models, and architectural diagrams. Ensure that all technical documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily understandable by technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Help team troubleshoot, resolve, and track Salesforce end-user issues.
Minimum Requirements
Typically requires 7+ years of experience
Critical Skills
7+ years of experience and expertise in Salesforce service cloud and sales cloud
7+ years’ experience in Salesforce Development including Custom Objects, Apex, Triggers, Web Services, Visualforce, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services and Migration Tools
4+ years’ experience in building custom UI solutions using Salesforce Lightning design system (SLDS), Salesforce Lightning UI, LWC, web technologies (HTML 5, CSS3, XML, jQuery, JavaScript)
Experience with Salesforce Platform events, Streaming API, Change data capture
Experience with Salesforce APIs, Salesforce connectors, middleware solutions like Kafka, MuleSoft
Knowledge and experience with various tools in the Salesforce ecosystem, such as Salesforce DevOps, GitHub, backup/recovery tools, etc.
Strong knowledge of CRM application development, processes, and best practices.
Salesforce Platform Developer II (PD2) certification required.
Salesforce Application Architect certification required.
Additional Skills
Strong communication, collaboration, and business stakeholder management skills.
Experience partnering with multiple delivery partners and vendors on achieving business objectives.
A team player with a high level of accountability and a proactive attitude towards getting things done.
Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead through influence in cross-functional environments.
Agile experience a plus but not required.
Atlassian suite experience is desired.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree (Information Technology/Information Systems or related), or equivalent experience.
