Job Overview:
Airia Comprehensive Dermatology is a unique practice with the central mission being to provide the highest quality care to our patients. We are passionate about innovation and providing access to the latest surgical, medical, and cosmetic treatments. We are interviewing for a medical assistant to manage a broad range of clinical duties and excel in the workplace by making patient care a top priority. This role requires a willingness to learn and be flexible, communicate confidently and efficiently, and work in a high-paced team environment. In addition to clinical duties, this role will include understanding the administrative area of the practice, which requires the ability to multitask. All of our team members are cross-trained. At the practice, you will be given the opportunity to train and take on more responsibility on the clinical and patient care front, as well as learn to perform medical and cosmetic procedures under the supervision of the physician after demonstrating successful skills as a medical assistant.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Patient Care
● Greeting patients and checking them in
● Rooming patients and taking an accurate HPI
● Taking clear photos to be used as documentation
● Preparing patients for examination
● Assisting the physician during exams/procedures
● Scribing during examinations
● Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
● Instructing patients about medication and special diets
● Preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician
● Transmitting prescription/prescription refills as directed
● Removing sutures and changing dressings
● Performing procedures after being trained by the physician
● Provide patient counseling information/handouts
● Explaining treatment procedures to patients
● Check-in or check-out patients if needed
● Call patients with their pathology results (per physician discretion)
● Accutane patient protocol (patients who can become pregnant and patients who can not)
Clinical Responsibilities
● Complete DermTech course
● Room inventory and informing the manager of any needed supplies
● Answering phone calls
● Responding to emails
● Checking consent forms are signed
● Maintaining medical records
● Input medical documents into the electronic health record (EHR)
● Making sure to reconcile patient history
● Input the patient preferred pharmacy
● Sterilize instruments
● HIPAA/OSHA
● Complete prior authorizations
● Communicating results to primary care provider (PCP)
