JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Production Finance Analyst (Freelance)
I. GENERAL/OVERALLRESPONSIBILITIES:
The Freelance Production Finance Analyst supports studio/network’s Finance Team by providing day-to-day support for Scripted, Tentpoles, Specials, productions and is a hybrid position. This position interacts with all levels of employees and various departments through-out the company.
II. PRINCIPALRESPONSIBILITIES:
WBS Creation & Vendor Set-up
· Support business request for internal WBS project code creation
· Liaison between new vendor and Studio/Network, assisting vendor with the setup process in Graphite/Ariba for payment
· Main point of contact for troubleshooting and navigating/resolving vendor payment issues
Production Finance/Accounting
· Prepare funding requests and coordinate approvals for projects
· Investigate and resolve inquiries from teams needing assistance with AP related matters such as questions about POs, confirmations, etc.
· Facilitate preparation and/or review of cash flow schedules and the creation of POs in Ariba for in-house and 3rd party productions
· Handle preparation and approval coordination of ancillary invoices and internal chargebacks
· Prepare and circulate locked budget sign-off sheets
· Input locked budgets and current EFCs into SAP
· Interact with 3rd party producers to obtain cost reporting packages and other deliverables
· Preparation of Journal Entries
· Run and review reports from financial systems, including SAP and Smart Accounting
· Identify, research and coordinate interface issues for resolution and achieve balance between SAP and Smart Accounting
· Manage bank reconciliation process for in-house shows with cash application team
· Support monthly/quarterly accounting close, and research as needed to ensure all costs are reconciled to SAP and accounted for at the show level
· Assist with the closing out dormant Scripted, Tentpoles, Specials, and News productions
Show Management Support
· Assist with setup process for accounting and payroll software applications for new shows (e.g. SAP interface, SA, SS, ST, SPO, CASHet, TIN matching, ACH activation, approval flows, etc.)
· Coordinate bank signatory changes and opening of new accounts
· Facilitate setup of BET email addresses, computer equipment, shared drive folders, and other resources for show level accounting team.
· Distribute production finance manual to production personnel
· First responder to show accounting team questions and software issues
· Review year end 1099 reporting
· Assist with review of coding, expenses, and verify approvals for studio level charges against shows
· Review monthly non-union insurance review of participants with show accounting team
· Handle quarterly review of payroll accrual, SA users, and lease reporting as needed
· Assist with production incentive audits
· Support show turnover at wrap
Admin
· Maintain the physical and digital files for various television productions
· Regularly add and update show information on Airtable
· Prepare check deposit memos to lockbox
· Handle shipping and packaging needs
· Assist department with various ad hoc projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications
· Minimum 2-3 years finance or accounting experience, preferably within the media and entertainment landscape
· Experience with accounting principles and practices, general ledger systems and accounts payable functions
Additional Qualifications
· Strong knowledge of Excel
· Experience in general ledger accounting systems preferred (SAP, EP Smart Accounting)
· Learns quickly, conducts self-reviews, checks work and learns from mistakes
· Is curious, hardworking, and passionate about entertainment finance; and maintains a positive attitude
· Works effectively and efficiently with heavy volume and tight deadlines
· Ideal candidate works calm under pressure, has a strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with senior management and other high-level industry executives
· Undergraduate degree strongly preferred
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
