This role will come with a $1,500 sign on bonus. $750 payable at 90 days and $750 payable at 6 months.
Job Summary:
An automation technician will support the uptime of manufacturing machinery and the launch of new manufacturing processes with emphasis on industrial controls automation, robotics, machine vision and visualization packages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Program Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
· Program and teach robots.
· Program Human Machine Interface (HMI) terminals/panels.
· Set up and train vision system and sensors.
· Troubleshoot and debug electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls.
· Install sensors, actuators, fittings, connectors, brackets, custom details, etc. in manufacturing machinery and fixtures.
· Select and specify industrial control components (Processors, I/O modules, Network Cards, Terminals, etc.)
· Select and size pneumatic controls and devices.
· Set up and debug safety systems and circuits (light curtains, door interlocks, request to enter, safety relays).
· Set up controls communication and network protocols for devices.
· Perform parameter selection and adjustment on servo actuators.
· Size motors, starters, variable frequency drives, conductors and machinery circuit protection.
· Other duties as assigned.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide technical support during machine down situations.
· Make judgement calls on priority of work based on multiple concurrent demands.
· Communicate corrective actions and further recommendations to team members on different shifts and within different departments to sustain continuous problem-solving efforts.
· Contribute to machinery and fixture design and component selection.
Qualifications, Experience, and Specific Skills Required:
Education/Experience: Electronic and/or Mechatronic degree or equivalent on-the-job experience.
Specific Skills:
· Maintain professional working relationships.

· Capable of working independently and being self-reliant in some problem-solving and troubleshooting situations.
· Read and understand electrical and pneumatic schematics.
· Demonstrate strong mechanical inclination.
· Very computer literate and competent with networks.
· Can understand and communicate logic and sequences.
· Capable of performing mathematic operations associated with speed, position, flow, temperature, pressure, current, voltage, time, etc.
