ABRISA TECHNOLOGIES (www.abrisatechnologies.com) designs, manufactures, and distributes precision optical coating solutions and custom fabricated glass optical products via two divisions: Abrisa Industrial Glass, located in Santa Paula, CA and ZC&R Coatings for Optics located in Torrance, CA. Both companies are in the Los Angeles metropolitan area with 125,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing floor space and approximately 150 employees.
We are currently recruiting for Production Level 1 (CNC Operator Entry level) 2 positions to join the team in Santa Paula, CA. Pay Range $17 to $19.00, plus 10% shift differential for 2rds shift along with a comprehensive benefits package, including Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, etc.
Purpose: Production Level 1 (CNC Operator) employees are responsible for one or more fundamental aspects of the manufacturing of glass and optical components. Potential tasks for a CNC operator include preparing and operating CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc. of glass and optical components. This is an entry level position and has minimal independent decision-making responsibility. Must be able to understand instructions whether they are written or verbal and follow said instructions. Must complete work with accuracy and efficiency. The nature of all production positions is repetitive motions for extended periods of time.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling etc.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality
- Production of products consistent with quality control standards established.
- Production of products consistent with units per man and cost per unit established requirements.
- Maintain a heightened level of focus on SAFETY.
- Maintain good housekeeping and waste management practices.

Minimum Qualifications (including Education):
High School Graduate or equivalent.
Previous experience of 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment desirable

The worker may be subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level when working in specific areas. PPE equipment is available, such as ear plugs.
· Steel-toed shoes and safety glasses required when in production floor as a minimum. Other PPE may be required depending on area and specific function needs.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Must be able to work overtime when requested.
Travel: No travel expected.
