SUMMARY:
MIG welds aluminum components per blueprint drawing. Based on schedule needs, this position may be required to work in other department areas as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Produces consistent welds per Company training and quality standards
· Produces uniform, presentable appearing welds
· Adjusts welding machine and welding technique to produce consistent welds to standard
· Performs basic repairs and maintenance to welding machine and tooling
· Suggest process improvements
· Work as a team with other welders and assemblers to optimize output
· Ability to understand blueprint drawings for job at hand
· Perform other duties as assigned by Lead, Supervisor, and Manager
· Produces components at rates expected
· Participates in physical inventories
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
0-6 months welding experience. Experience welding (MIG Aluminum) in a manufacturing environment with good working knowledge of industry standards relating to quality systems and practices is a plus. Ability to successfully pass a MIG welding certification test administered by the employer.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, write and speak English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Basic Math Skills. Ability to Measure distance using a tape measure or other measuring device. Use calculator as needed.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions. Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Basic computer experience, ability to learn internal programs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
MIG welders must be willing to work overtime, be able to stand, bend and lift for the majority of the day. Able to perform welding in awkward positions. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Walk and stand on a frequent basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Typical manufacturing environment with changes in temperature due to location of work to be performed.
Use of personal protective equipment required.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
