POSITION TITLE: Landscape Designer/Salesperson
STATUS: Exempt
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time
SUPERVISES: No direct reports. Indirectly supervises Landscape Crew Leaders and Landscape Crew Members as related to the Designer’s projects.
OBJECTIVE: The Landscape Designer/Salesperson is responsible for the development and sales of landscape installation projects and for the development and maintenance of relationships with landscape clients. He/she is also responsible for representing the company in a professional manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Meets with potential clients to determine the specific requirements and scope of the projects in order to present designs or proposals that meet the clients’ specific needs.
- Develops landscape plans or proposals from information gathered from initial client meetings in an effort to put the clients’ requirements and the designer’s interpretation into a format that the client can visualize.
- Presents the final plan or estimate to the client in a positive, enthusiastic manner to help ensure the sale of the project.
- Administers the implementation of the project, through directives to the Landscape Crew Leader to ensure the integrity of the project and the satisfaction of the client.
- Maintains relationships with the clients through follow-up on the project and periodic offering of guidance for maintenance and offerings of additional services.
- Provides assistance in the Garden Center as the need arises and represents the Landscape Department in peak seasons to answer inquiries and field leads.
- Reports to the Landscape Design Manager regarding the progress of projects, difficulties with clients, and any other information that is pertinent to maintaining a quality product.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be available and willing to work Saturdays during peak season, AND
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture/Design or related field, AND
- At least 2 years of CAD experience, AND
- Three to five years experience in the landscape industry, OR
- Combination of education and/or experience to meet the qualifications listed above
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
· Requires sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, balancing and lifting up to 50 pounds.
· Work environment is a combination of indoors and outdoors in all types of weather including extreme heat, cold, and various types of precipitation.
