God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.
Job Description:
Purpose of Position: The Human Resource Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization's human resource department.
Essential Functions:
· Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate Human Resource Manager
· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
· Provides clerical support to the HR department.
· Assist with new hire orientation as needed
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
· Support and assist HR Manager in recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Competencies:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn Paychex human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
Work Environment: onsite
Location: Chicago, IL
Expected Hours of Work: 40 hours a week
Travel: less than 10%
Qualifications:
Required Education:
· Minimum of an associate degree in related field preferred.
Experience:
· 2 years minimum of human resource related experience
· Experience with recruiting and sourcing preferred
· Social services or mental health industry experience preferred
