The Aspenwood Company, a leader in the senior living industry has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Senior Director of Resident Care at our Village on the Park Rogers and Bentonville location, an Independent and Assisted Living with Memory Care senior community.
Pay Range: $85,000 - $90,000/yr.
The Senior Director of Resident Care provides strategic leadership for resident care in the community by managing, directing and monitoring subordinate nurses, resident care team and resident medication aides, as applicable by State law, to promote the health and wellness of the resident population. Must desire to work with seniors and ensure a person- centered culture is implemented and practiced. have a tolerance for behaviors associated with dementia and other aging processes. Abides by upholds company core values.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide clinical care through the direct application of the assisted living and memory care processes; perform and document resident assessments, complete Individualized Service Plans,provide or delegate hands-on clinical care as indicated by the plan of care and evaluate resident outcomes.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other clinical providers to coordinate care and services for the residents within the community.
- Perform skill evaluation assessments to assure clinical capability of care team members. Make daily rounds to review performance of resident care staff.
- Provides superior customer service preserving Resident Retention.
- Investigate and resolve resident and family concerns and complaints.
- Participate in clinical quality and process improvement initiatives within the assisted living community to mitigate risk and improve resident care outcomes.
- Recruit, hire and train clinical team members and is responsible for performance management, evaluation, and engagement.
- Scheduling, and training of personnel and ensures managers are familiar with and adhere to state regulatory standards. Maintains high staff morale and fosters a supportive work environment.
- Respond to concerns of residents, families, and visitors by providing immediate and courteous assistance.
- Gather medical and contact information for all new residents. Review resident chart documentation for completion and accuracy.
- Responsible for overall safety of residents and the Community.
- Provides superior customer service preserving Resident Retention.
- Collaborate with Sales partners to determine community capability and assess potential residents -in.
- Assist with transfers and move-outs.
- Performs timely assessment of potential and current residents to assure needs can be, or continue to be, met in an assisted living and memory care setting.
- Track, trend, and report clinical quality data to identify risk.
- Provide oversight of the assisted living community medication management program to promote resident safety in the medication use process.
- Conduct incident report follow-up investigation and ensure completion of resident status documentation.
- Maintains accurate resident charts and state required documentation and is always prepared for state survey and health inspections.
- Assure compliance with all Federal, State/Provincial, board of nursing and other applicable regulations.
- Provide oversight of the community medication management program to promote resident safety in the medication use process.
- Communicate directly with other disciplines involved in patient care on a regular basis,including weekends.
- Complete all assigned duties that may change from time-to-time according to resident needs, staffing levels, and working circumstances.
- Member of the community's emergency response team.
- Maintains a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.
- Operates and maintains assigned equipment, supplies, inventory and other property according to established procedures.
- Be a role model and mentor serving as subject matter expert.
- Perform RN duties as mandated by state regulatory agency for assigned communities.
- Provide oversight of clinical systems for assigned communities and perform routine visits.
- Assists with special projects or task; other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
College Degree required. Preferred graduate of an accredited LVN/LPN/RN program.
2 - 3 years experience in Memory care setting. Experience in geriatric nursing, emergency care, first aid.
If licensed, must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state. Must have current CPR certification. If licensed, must maintain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the State. Valid Driver's License
Computer proficiency with electronic medical records, the Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to learn new applications. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Must be flexible in the hours, shifts and days available to work.
