Job Description:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team here at CARAFAP (are nd ecreational ctivities or utistic eople) as Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care and support for individuals with disabilities, particularly those covered under the Autism Waiver and Developmental Disability Administration (DDA) services. As a DSP, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities by assisting them in various aspects of daily living, promoting independence, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities, including personal care, meal preparation, emotional regulation, behavioral management, and assistance with activities of daily living.
· Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans as outlined by supervisors and healthcare professionals.
· Foster a safe and nurturing environment for individuals with disabilities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being at all times.
· Engage individuals in meaningful activities and community outings, promoting socialization and integration.
· Support individuals in developing life skills, such as communication, self-care, and household management.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided, progress notes, incident reports, and any other required paperwork.
· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, therapists, families, and case managers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care.
· Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in working with individuals with disabilities.
· Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures governing the provision of services to individuals with disabilities.
· Provide advocacy and support to individuals with disabilities in accessing community resources and services.
