We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team! As an early member of the finance and accounting team, we are looking for an experienced accountant, familiar with the healthcare industry, to help continue to build/establish policies, protocols, guidance and to help maintain financial integrity.
As a Senior Accountant at Diverge, you will be tasked with creating and optimizing multiple different processes across the organization. As a crucial part of the finance and accounting team you will touch every part of the accounting process. You will be able to explore and work with everything from risk revenue recognition to accounts payable, expense management, payroll and so much more.
Key areas you'll add value:
- Manage policies, systems, and processes for accounts receivable, accounts payable and expenses including the administration of Diverge's employee credit card program.
- Compile and manage tax documentation in support of year-end tax and audit processes.
- Interface with third-party accounting firm to manage month-end and year-end close processes including a 10-day close timeline in adherence with Diverge accounting policy.
- Review general ledger transaction detail and account reconciliations on balance sheet accounts and analyze accounts to determine balance appropriateness.
- Support Finance by evaluating financial statements and delivering insights and improvements for financial reporting.
- Assist in the development of accruals related to health plan payments and reconciliation process for value-based care contracts.
- Identify and implement process improvement and accounting protocol opportunities across Accounting, Finance, and RCM functions.
- Collaborate on the use of HRIS systems (Paylocity) to ensure proper transaction coding to the GL.
- Support accounting process and payment remittance integrity related to Diverge's Practice Incentive Payment program.
What you'll bring:
- 2-5 years of experience as an accountant, preferably in the healthcare industry
- CPA and working understanding of US GAAP principals and ability to apply correct treatment under GAAP strongly preferred.
- Experience working with a healthcare organization that operates risk-based healthcare contracts.
- Healthcare services experience, specifically with healthcare providers and/or risk-based healthcare entities strongly preferred.
- Familiarity and experience with software, preferably Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Divvy or Ramp, and other technology tools that support accounting functions.
- Experience working in a growth and/or startup environment with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, fluid, and dynamic atmosphere .
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and MS Office product suite.
- A continuous learner who feels the weight of their work.
- Strong sense of humility and proven work ethic.
