AB Vista Lab Services operate from laboratories in Ystrad Mynach, Wales and Plantation, USA offering testing to our customers. Working in a team to support the overall running of the Laboratory by collecting and logging samples into the laboratory management system, preparing samples for analysis (for e.g. enzyme activities such as phytase and xylanase, ELISA, NIR, other biochemistry) and assisting scientists with running and reporting of these laboratory tests.
Other responsibilities include:
- Receiving and logging samples into the computer system (Laboratory Information Management System also known as LIMS)
- Preparation and weighing of samples ready for analysis
- Data collection and data entry
- Checking a variety of laboratory equipment to ensure its within calibration limits and re-calibration if necessary
- Potential/opportunities to learn other lab duties and perform some testing subject to training
To be successful in this role some of the things we are looking for:
- High attention to detail with the ability to follow both written and verbal technical instructions
- Comfortable working with numbers with high level of accuracy
- Previous experience of using computer systems or excel for data entry or recording information
- Interest in science would be beneficial
- Previous experience of working in a laboratory environment would be desired
- Ability to lift 15-20 lbs when preparing reagents
