Our off-site services include performing a range of microbial and chemical analyses, including multi-pathogen screening of water samples by qPCR. Our clients include owners/managers of commercial and multi-unit residential communities, and institutional leadership of healthcare facilities including hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities.About the BWS Field Services Technician PositionGeneral Description: Duties and Responsibilities
The BWS Field Services Technician position is a full-time job, with hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday although occasional extended hours and weekend work may be required to suit clients’ needs.
The job requires on-site collection of water samples for subsequent chemical and microbiological testing at approved laboratories, field measurements (such as free chlorine, temperature, pH) and reporting of results to management. The holder of this position will conduct on-site water sampling and related tasks at BWS’s clients’ facilities primarily in the greater New York City area although travel outside that area may be required.

Education/Experience
A degree in a preferred subject with more than 3 years of experience
Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Degree is preferably in environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, civil engineering, or equivalent environmental science or engineering related field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs routine water sample collection and water quality testing of physical-chemical parameters (e.g., temperature, free and total chlorine, pH) of water samples collected from BWS’s clients’ locations.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee also is regularly required to handle water samples, including containers of water samples weighing up to 50 pounds
Participates in the overtime and weekend schedule as required.
Maintains field-testing supplies and reagents inventory.
Performs or coordinates equipment maintenance and calibration.
Reports data using equipment outputs, email, and other standard software and online collaboration platforms.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills (oral and written).
Reports and documents any deviations upon finding.
Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Adjusts work hours as needed to meet client deadlines.
Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner by adhering to site environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements.
Travel to BWS clients’ sites and provide field services for collecting water samples from specified sources (sinks, showers, spigots etc.).
Ensure the field assignment accurately reflects the state of the testing site (correct number of water outlets quoted).
Complies with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Photographs each collection source with barcode for data collection and retrieval
You will be the face of the company for the buildings assigned and are expected to provide a consistent high level of customer care.
Documents all activities within electronic platform.
Provides executive summary after every service visit.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Understands and follows all procedures and processes required for work and performs all duties in strict compliance with BWS’s standard practices. Ability to work alone and within a team in order to complete assigned tasks.
