We are seeking a skilled Carpenter II to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in various carpentry tasks and a strong understanding of construction sites and projects.
Position Summary:
The Carpenter II will perform rough and finish carpentry methods and techniques independently. They should possess refined carpentry skills, the ability to interact with subcontractors and clients, safely perform work, and follow company policies and procedures. The Carpenter II reports directly to the Operations Manager and indirectly to the Lead Carpenter or Project Manager responsible for the job site. The Carpenter II is a full-time, hourly position.
Qualifications:

3. Ability to learn and follow directions carefully

5. Ability to understand and interpret construction documents, including window and door schedules, elevations, section drawings, and appliance cut sheets
Experience:
1. High School Diploma or Equivalent
2. At least five years prior construction experience
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Master all requirements of Carpenter’s Assistant and Carpenter I
2. Put together take-offs and place orders with vendors as needed
3. Layout a project per floor plan
4. Layout and Build walls, floors, Decks, joints, and hip rafters for rough framing
5. Prep and install flush and drop beams to support loads
6. Weave and install roofing shingles
7. Bend and install window, fascia, and rake capping
8. Layout and frame stair stringers
9. Install exterior trim and siding systems
10. Install interior trim, base, casing, crown molding, etc., with superior craftsmanship
11. Assist trade sub-contractors with layout for mechanicals
12. Install the Schluter tile prep system correctly
13. Install custom and semi-custom cabinetry and cabinet-grade trim
14. Hang interior and exterior pre-hung doors
15. Mortise door blanks into an existing jamb
16. Scribe trim to irregular walls/floors
17. Install engineered flooring, including nail-down, glued, or floating
18. Install baseline appliances as needed
19. Anticipate material needs and orders ahead to keep the project on schedule
20. Perform end-of-day procedures, including clean-up, weather protection, and security
21. Take project photos and file daily logs in Job Tread
22. Understand and comply with all company policies
23. Understand and comply with all safety guidelines
24. Maintain cheerful customer, fellow employee, and public relations
Tools Required:
Essential hand tools include a hammer, tape measure, speed square, nail apron, circular saw, drill, reciprocating saw, 2 ½ and 4 ft levels, nail gun/stapler, and air compressor.
Work Hours and Schedule:
The Carpenter II is expected to be at the work site by 8 am each day and will work until 4:30 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break and two paid 15-minute breaks, when possible.
