Project: Customer is an insurance company as one their primary lines, you will be playing a data leader role in a program and lead the Enterprise Data tech/ops/biz discovery alongside the customer team to understand the current challenges, expectations, consumption patterns and asses the current enterprise data landscape. You will lead the and drive workshop and discovery sessions, coordinate and prepare for the sessions and lead with preparation and expectations upfront. The Insurance Data Strategy Lead is a visionary leader responsible for shaping the data strategy to drive growth, profitability, and competitive advantage in the commercial specialty insurance market. This role will leverage data-driven insights to optimize underwriting, claims, pricing, and customer experiences. A solid understanding of Insurance is important.
Responsibilities:
- Data Strategy Development:
- Develop a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's business objectives and focused on the unique needs of commercial specialty lines.
- Identify, prioritize, and implement data-driven initiatives that address key business challenges and opportunities.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to establish a data-driven culture across the organization.
- Data Governance:
- Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Define data ownership, access controls, and security protocols to protect sensitive information.
- Data Analytics:
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics models and tools to support underwriting, pricing, claims management, and risk assessment.
- Utilize predictive analytics and machine learning techniques to identify emerging trends and optimize business processes.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of data-driven initiatives.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages continuous learning and development.
- Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical and leadership skills.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with business stakeholders across underwriting, claims, marketing, and operations to understand their data needs and drive adoption of data-driven solutions.
- Communicate data insights and recommendations to senior management in a clear and actionable manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, or actuarial science. Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA) preferred.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in data strategy, analytics, or related fields, with a minimum of 5 years in the insurance industry (preferably commercial specialty lines).
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of data management, data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R). Experience with cloud-based data platforms is a plus.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of data professionals, as well as collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to a variety of audiences.
