JOB SUMMARY:
The Head of Hospitality Operations oversees the successful functioning of Half Acre’s taproom and kitchen operations, retail shop, private events, and public, on-site events. The Head of Hospitality Operations reports to the President and is a member of the Leadership Team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
In conjunction with the President and CFO, provide accurate and timely preparation and analysis of financials for the Hospitality arm of the business, including P&L’s, costs analysis tables (labor, COGS) and any other relevant measurements to ensure the financial success of the taprooms
Directly manages the Taproom and Programming Manager, the Head Chef/Kitchen Manager, the Consumer Experience (Retail) Manager and the Business Development (In-House Events) Manager and is responsible for the teams that roll up to these positions.
Taproom:
Oversees and directs all taproom operations, including execution against all strategic, financial, and administrative goals with assistance from the CFO and the President.
Works with the Taproom and Programming Manager to implement all measures needed to achieve the financial goals set for the department
Able to identify issues and adjust our hospitality program to achieve the best results for our customers, our staff, and our business
Work with Taproom and Programming Manager and the Senior Director of Human Resources to assess staffing needs and participate in the hiring process whenever possible
Remains approachable and visible.
Food Operations:
Responsible for working with the Kitchen Manager and/or Head Chef, The President and the CFO to maintain a food program that is financially viable and quality driven
Work directly with the Kitchen Manager and/or Chef, The President and the CFO to monitor systems that ensure the kitchen is run efficiently, with a particular eye on food and labor costs
In-House Events (private and public):
Shop:
Plan and execute the retail plan year to year with input from the Retail Manager, track monthly progress and consult on necessary changes to stay on track
Be responsible for creating, tracking, and adhering to the retail budget and revenue goals, along with labor costs, and enact corrective measures to ensure a successful result
Be a resource to the Retail Manager for retail personnel issues when necessary
Beer Planning:
Work with the Director of Brewing Operations to ensure that the taprooms are ready for the various releases of HABC’s and guest beers
Cultivating an environment that invests in and promotes diversity in backgrounds for the people who work at Half Acre and in the brewing industry.
Ensures a culture of inclusion so everyone can succeed.
Expanding and fostering our audience to improve the diversity of people who enjoy our beer, using donations and partnerships to improve the ability to access Half Acre Beer.
Using our resources and benefits to support the betterment of communities who have been negatively impacted by racism, discrimination, or prejudice.
