Job Description This position involves responsibility for administration and organization of a library serving less than 5,000 and providing library services to such a community. The work involves carrying out broad policy as determined by the Library Board. Direct supervision may be exercised over volunteers. The incumbent does related work as required.

- Helping visitors find materials
- Processing interlibrary loans
- Performs reference services
- Signing up visitors for library cards
- Recommends necessary library services
- Cataloging and organizing materials
- Reshelving materials
- Helping plan and participate in special programs
- Recommends library repairs, alterations, and new construction
- Represents the library at community and group meetings
Required Knowledge and Skills
- Some knowledge of library techniques
- Some knowledge of library administrative practices
- Ability to carry out library policies
- Ability to comprehend readers’ needs quickly and accurately
- Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
- Initiative in making constructive suggestions for improvements in services and book collection
- Sound judgement
- Sunny disposition
- Strong tech skills, including managing social media accounts
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of an associates degree from an accredited college or university prefered
