Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook and assistant manager to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and presentation, ensuring high-quality dishes are served to our customers.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications
- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Line Cook in the food industry
- Knowledge of best practices for food safety and sanitation
- Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Familiarity with kitchen operations in a restaurant or catering environment
- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Diploma from a culinary school is a plus
