Armand Corporation, an award-winning M/WBE Construction Management firm celebrating over 33 years in the industry, is seeking a full-time Resident Engineer to join our construction management team. This position will be involved in different aspects of a federal construction project related to complex rail, transit, and other transportation projects in NY & NJ.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in a position as a Residential Engineer with duties relating to the construction of soil stabilization, tunnel boring machinery, SEM, spoils, and/or cofferdam/sheeting.
This position will be full-time, on-site, and will report to our Midtown Manhattan office, client office, and other Armand locations across NYC and NJ.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Resident Engineer will be required to ensure that construction work is performed in compliance with the contract drawings, specifications, and all applicable codes and standards.
- Coordinate with contractors, facility personnel, design consultants, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety of construction work.
- Coordinate construction work with necessary parties to ensure that contracts are complete with minimum disruption to any existing facility/operations.
- Compile comprehensive inspection reports, documenting findings and recording any deviations or discrepancies from approved plans and specifications.
Qualifications:
Candidate must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural, and/or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- PE License strongly preferred.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in construction management and inspection relating to the construction of soil stabilization, tunnel boring machinery, SEM, spoils, and/or cofferdam/sheeting.
- NJ Transit, MTA, or Amtrak safety training preferred.
- OSHA 30-hour or SST construction safety required.
- Ability to stay late or come in early as needed. Night and weekend shifts may be required.
- Ability to pass a TWIC and/or SWAC background check at high level.
- Valid driver's license may be required depending on the site location.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
