We are seeking for Hospice IPU Nurse, PRN (7:00am-7:00pm) who is an experienced, energetic, strong and dedicated in leading the exceptional nursing services that are delivered to our patients. As an Registered Nurse at Mesun, you will be treated as a valuable member of our healthcare team.
POSITION: Hospice IPU Nurse, PRN
SUMMARY: The Hospice IPU Nurse plans and delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, interventions, implementation, and evaluation; and effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other interdisciplinary team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing and clinical competency.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia
- Hospice experience highly desirable
- Current Basic Life Support Certification
- Minimum one year recent professional nursing experience
- Able to cope with emotional stress and be tolerant of individual lifestyles
- Sensitive to the needs of terminally ill patients and families and one's own feelings about dying and death.
- Basic computer skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Intermittent physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, lifting and supporting patients.
- Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment.
- Incumbent may experience traumatic situations in the family setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates under the direction of the Clinical Director and under the Medical Director’s orders.
- Responsible for providing total patient nursing care in the inpatient unit facility.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients. Complete admission, discharge and nursing note documentation.
- Prepare, administer and chart medications. Administer and chart treatments.
- Make rounds on all patients at the shift beginning and then periodically during each shift.
- Accompany physicians on rounds at the inpatient unit.
- Make assignments and supervise care and services provided by Hospice CNA.
- Provides appropriate support at time of death and period of bereavement as needed.
- Participates in orientation and in-service training programs for hospice staff.
- Represents MeSun Health Services in professional and community activities as requested.
- Participates in Continuous Organizational Improvement Program activities.
- Maintain a high level of competency, growth and development, including ensuring license and CPR are current and in good standing at all times.
- Attend nursing meetings, quarterly educational in-services and complete yearly competencies.
- Document accurately and appropriately in the electronic medical record.
- Participate in QAPI initiatives with problem-solving via action items.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Pay: $38.00 - $41.00 per hour
