Job Responsibilities:
Act as a key contact point, alone or within a team, to support client needs. Overcommunicate to ensure clarity for all stakeholders. Develop and implement project plans. Design, troubleshoot, and document control programs for custom automation equipment, utilizing PLCs, PCs, servo drives, robots, and other controllers. Create HMI applications from scratch. Skilled in troubleshooting electrical controls and mechanical mechanisms. Organized and self-disciplined with the ability to coordinate vendor activities. Produce designs, programs, and documentation on schedule, utilizing standard products and software modules where possible. Employ logical reasoning for timely evaluation of scenarios. Periodic travel for equipment programming, installation, and training. Prioritize safety in designs and project execution. Ensure highest quality standards. Promptly respond to client requests. Create and review Electrical and Controls Drawing sets.

- Generate BOM for drawings
- Maintain Drawing directory for projects ensuring revisions and drawing numbers are accurate and meet Crow Standards.
- Back check drawings from team members
- Create Load calculation Spreadsheets.
Estimation and Financial Controls Responsibilities
The individual possesses skills in project estimation, field note creation, team management, and financial oversight. They can estimate project hours, create accurate field notes, and manage team time effectively. They communicate construction estimates and handle difficult conversations professionally. Their goal is to exceed Crow Engineering's margin expectations for all projects.
Corporate Responsibilities:
The role entails indirectly contributing to business development by engaging with current clients to identify potential opportunities during projects. Additionally, occasional travel may be necessary to support business development activities. The position also involves forecasting workload for the extended team and effectively prioritizing tasks. Communication of any under or overutilization of team resources is crucial through these forecasts.
Client Facing Responsibilities:
The individual in this role must have strong communication skills to interact directly with clients regarding project updates, tasks, and issues for minor to moderate projects. They are accountable for their safety and that of others while working at client locations, including understanding safety procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, lockout-tagout protocols, and emergency response actions.
Furthermore, it is essential for the employee to establish rapport with clients, making them feel integral to the design process by soliciting feedback and cultivating relationships at all levels within the client organization, from plant managers to maintenance and operations staff. They should be flexible enough to work around client shutdown schedules to gather critical field information when necessary.
Additionally, the individual must ensure effective revision control when working on client designs and may contribute to building standards, best practices, and training documentation for future hires. They should possess the ability to navigate challenging situations professionally and manage multiple client requests and projects concurrently, with an expected baseline workload of 10-20 projects at any given time.

- Strong Electrical and Controls background with working knowledge of Controls Circuits, Power Distribution, Control Power, Communication Networks, PLC’s, and VFD’s.
- Working knowledge and experience with material handling systems. Individuals with experience with sawmill or general wood products industry expertise are preferred.
- Working knowledge of process driven manufacturing facilities.
- Experience in building complicated project plans
- The ability to work in a team environment and drive successes amongst the larger group.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, vendors, and other employees of the organization
- Design/Drafting skills are preferred.
- Excellent understanding of Electrical controls and instrumentation symbols
- Rockwell PLC/HMI programming
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to clearly document test results, configuration parameters, process and training materials
- Must be able to go into field situations and be able to measure up, document, and communicate field data to the design team.
- Must be able to work independently/ remotely.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
Qualifications:
- 5+ Years PLC programming experience using Rockwell/ Allen Bradley. Knowledge of other platforms is a plus.
- AutoCAD experience, or similar systems to AutoCAD. Experience with 3D modeling systems.
- Experience with engineering change order and version control systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of process driven manufacturing facilities.
- Experience with risk analysis and process validation methods
- Experience taking onsite measurements and building “as built” documentation prior to generating
- Must have a valid state Driver’s license with no infractions in past year.
Location:
This role primarily involves working from home, accounting for 40% of the time. The candidate should be prepared to work out of the corporate office at least one day a week. Additionally, availability to visit client sites as required is essential.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $106,000.00 per year
