This position effectively and in a suitable manner supervises, coordinates and oversees day-to-day activities, through self or subordinate personnel, the activities of production by utilizing knowledge of production, process and methods, equipment capabilities and human resources. Ability to fill in for any positions that report to him or her.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises Production Lead, Machine Operator, Production Operators, Warehouse Operators, and indirectly supervises Setup Technicians, Set-Up Mechanics, and QA Inspectors on individual shift. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

In an unbiased and consistent manner, follows company policy and procedures, resolves worker complaints or if unable to settle submits issues to Manufacturing Manager, Plant Manager, or Human Resources for action.

Communicates company policies and procedures to workers and enforces company policies in a fair and consistent manner and when corrective action is required, ensures that it is properly documented in an approved format.

Conducts and ensures that new or transferred employees receive department orientation and are properly trained to properly perform assigned duties.
- Accurately and timely and in an unbiased nature completes performance evaluations that correctly reflect the employees’ contribution.
- Responsible for all training for operational employees. Ensure all employees are trained to company training requirements and complete regular training assessments that promote a continuous improvement environment.
- Responsible for ensuring Product Safety and Quality per standards of the SQF (Safe Quality Food) 2000 Code.
Operations

Accurately, timely and in accordance with Company procedures prepares, inputs, and processes various reports, paperwork or other administrative duties assigned. The following are examples of the types one might be responsible for:

Personnel records such as attendance, payroll, vacations, corrective action, and performance appraisals.
- Prepare daily shift report.

Thoroughly investigate and prepares first report of injury or incident reports. Works with Plant Safety personnel to put preventative measures in place.
- Prepares or provides information used in the “measurements of success”.
- Compliance with appropriate governmental regulatory requirements

Will be required to become proficient with shop floor computer systems such as The Manufacturing Manager (TMM) and Machine Data Transducer (MDT).
Planning and Organizing

Plans and organizes work effectively.
- Identifies available resources required to complete projects.
- Sets appropriate deadlines and checkpoints and meets them.
- Develops both short and long-term plans.
- Coordinates shift activities by organizing, planning and prioritizing to ensure that production and quality of the products meet customer specifications.

Communication of new information such as polices or procedures, changes or reinforcing previous communication to ensure that all levels are properly aware of what needs to be done.
- Reviews production schedule in order to plan shift operations and communicates them with the appropriate personnel.

Safety

Comply with the EHS Policy and applicable regulatory and company EHS rules and requirements.

Prompt reporting of any unsafe conditions, practices, or environmental concerns to supervision. Resolving potential hazards swiftly, thereby ensuring a safe work environment for all employees.

Attend scheduled EHS trainings.

Actively assist the organization in achieving or surpassing EHS goals. Identify areas for improvement in EHS practices and recommend enhancements to contribute to our commitment to a safe work environment.

Demonstrates safe work habits by adhering to general safety procedures, including correct techniques for lifting and bending, maintaining proper ergonomics, using equipment correctly, and wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Ensures that all fall protection procedures are strictly adhered to including but not limited to the use of harness, platform ladders, railing, lifts
Ensures strict adherence to all safety procedures, including the enforcement and discipline related to Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO) procedures.
Product Safety and Quality

Follows Product Safety and Quality standards.

Follows GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.

Follows IPC product defense standards and complies with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements.
Minimum Requirements (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.)

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment serving in progressive roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to supervise, work independently and keep abreast of all mechanical needs on the production floor.

Must have the ability to read and write English in order to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and technical manuals. Will write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to speak effectively and talk with employees.
- Must be proficient in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division and to calculate decimals and fractions. Understand and work with metric system and basic measurement instruments. Statistical knowledge and background in Statistical Process Control (SPC) a plus.

Must have the ability to apply understanding to carry out detailed instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of situations.
Must have advance to intermediate level computer skills with respect to Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, E-mail and the Internet.
