Description:
We are seeking a Senior IT Specialist to join our growing IT team. If you are a deadline-driven individual who is passionate about technology, problem-solving, and bringing ideas to fruition, this role may be a great fit for you.
The Senior IT Specialist will perform a variety of routine IT duties relating to technical support, project management, system maintenance and administration, troubleshooting, and security management.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identifies, diagnoses, and resolves Level One and Two problems for users of the mainframe, personal computer software and hardware network; communicates solutions to end-users.
- Provides one-on-one end-user problem resolution over the phone for Credit Union approved Personal Computer (PC) software.
- Delivers, tags, sets up, and assists in the configuration of end-user PC desktop hardware, software and peripherals.
- Diagnoses and resolves end-user network or local printer problems, PC hardware problems and mainframe, e-mail, Internet, dial-in, and local-area network access problems.
- Works with the IT Manager to coordinate timely repair of PC computer equipment covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
- Works with the IT Manager to perform minor desktop hardware repair for PC computer equipment and peripherals that are not covered by third-party vendor maintenance agreements.
- Maintains system admin access for a variety of vendors in order to issue password resets, setup access for new users, and perform troubleshooting for end-users.
- Works with the IT Manager to execute test cases manually and Validation of Testing efforts.
- Notifies all users whenever a new application is installed or upgrades to an existing system occur. Provides instructions and support if required.
- Tests components and systems to see how they integrate with existing systems and applications, and transfers application data and knowledge to the IT service desk to improve and facilitate service support for all IT solutions.
- Works with the IT Manager to schedule and perform tests to measure and improve the quality of various IT solutions, and to make sure that they perform as specified.
- Maintains frequent contact with various “user” departments and branches to review the status of production runs, exchange information, resolve problems, and generate special reports.
- Acts within the policies and procedures of the Credit Union. Performs job duties and responsibilities in a manner which protects the integrity and reputation of the Credit Union.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the IT Manager and Senior Management.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, exempt position. Hours worked will typically be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:30 pm with extended hours, and weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- At least five (5) years of experience working in IT.
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or comparable certifications coupled with experience.
- Experience addressing helpdesk inquiries via ticketing system.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience with Voice Over Internet Phone (VoIP).
- Research oriented.
- High attention to detail.
- Keen attention to detail, ability to adhere to multiple deadlines, strong research skills, and works well under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working within a financial institution.
- Experience with programming.
- Experience with virtualization.
- Symitar/Episys core processor experience.
